August Newsletter 2021

Hey Friend!

Happy end-of-August! It’s time for my next bi-monthly newsletter! Autumn is almost here at the Mitchell household, and I recently bought an autumn wreath and a few pumpkins because I’m just so darn excited. Autumn happens to be my favorite season. I love the changing of the leaves, sweater weather, pumpkin and cinnamon flavors, and Halloween with its spooky vibes. I can’t wait for September so that I can start decorating the house.

As you can guess, it’s a busy time for me with a book release just a week away. But I love being busy and book releases are so fulfilling! All right, I’ve got some important notes and updates below. Feel free to skip over the things you’re not interested in:

💫Publications: Verath the Red is still set to publish on September 7th in eBook, paperback, and hardcover. In case you missed it, I’m doing a preorder incentive over on my website. You can read about it HERE. My preorder incentives last day is September 6th, so make sure you get yours in if you want some extra bookmarks, an art print, and a chance to win a hardcover copy of For the Crown. I am awed by the amount of support and orders I have received after opening preorders. You guys are amazing! This is the most store orders I’ve ever received at any one time. 🥰

💫Website preorders/shipping: All preorders have officially been placed through the publisher and are currently in “printing” stage. I’ve been informed that for both paperbacks and hardcovers, the printer is seeing new delays due to the surge in COVID cases. This is unfortunate as I ordered these as early as possible to get them before the release. My goal was to get them all shipped out before September 7th, but I’m not sure that will happen now. I check their status daily. Once they arrive to me, I’ll begin signing and filling orders. I’ve been promised that hardcovers will arrive no later than the 15th and paperbacks no later than the 11th. But with these crazy times, everything is unpredictable. I’ll keep you posted. All preorder incentives and bundles will ship with your copy of Verath the Red. I really appreciate your patience during this hectic time!

💫Social Media/INTL Giveaway: To celebrate the launch of Verath the Red coming on September 7th, I’ll be doing an international giveaway on my Instagram account for a copy of your choice of book (up to a $35 value) through Book Depository or Amazon. You’ll need to be following my Instagram to see the post when it goes live (link at the top of this email). This international giveaway will be open to whatever countries Book Depository or Amazon ships to.

💫Writing: I’m elbows-deep in writing Koldis the Green. I’ve been posting chapters weekly on Wattpad, every Friday. It’s been so fun reading all your comments and interacting each week. I try to stay 5-6 chapters ahead so that I can make changes and leave a buffer with my posts. I’m really loving the way the story is going so far. It’s been great seeing everyone’s theories about Queen Jade and Claire. I might be biased, but I think this is my best Dragonwall book so far. I’ve definitely grown as a writer.

💫Blogs: Unfortunately, I didn’t get any writing tips blogs done. Publication prep and writing Koldis the Green have really sucked up all my time. I have continued to post my book reviews on my blog though, and I’ll highlight my favorites down at the bottom of this email. I had a lot of GREAT reads in the past two months. My reading time is sacred and I make sure to give myself 2-3 hours of reading time before bed to wind down, since my days are so packed with work.

💫Important Dates:

📌 September 6th: Last day for Verath the Red preorders.

📌 September 7th: Official publication date of Verath the Red

I suppose that wraps things up. I’ll just be here reveling in autumn and prepping for my book launch. I appreciate your continued support, and I love that you’re taking this journey with me. It’s your continued enthusiasm for my books that keep me writing during those days where my motivation is lacking. I can’t thank you enough!

All my best,
