About Author Melissa Mitchell
Melissa is a physics PhD by day and fantasy writer by night. She obtained her PhD in physics from the University of California and currently lives in Georgia with her husband and three fur babies. She is a Senior Design Engineer for a large North American lighting company designing optics for lights.
On her weekends, she spends her time reading and writing. She has a passion for creating intricate worlds with exciting characters. While fantasy is her favorite genre, she enjoys dabbling in paranormal romance, science fiction, and steampunk too.
Melissa got her start on Wattpad where she has over 115,000 followers. Her book Talon the Black (in its unpublished form) has over 3 MILLION reads on Wattpad. It was the call for physical copies that drove her to the world of Indie publishing. Currently, writing and publishing is her hobby, but she hopes to make it a full time career some day.
Melissa is best known for her Dragonwall Series, a set of seven books still in progress. The first two books are published and can be purchased through her website, Amazon, and bookstores worldwide. She is also working on a steampunk assassin series that she hopes to query in late 2021.
Melissa is an avid rader and book reviewer. She reads 2 to 3 books per week and reviews for large publishing companies via ARCs and backlist titles. She has an active blog where she posts her book reviews, as well as writing tips, and miscellaneous topics, like how to spray edges on all your favorite books.
